Not being an early bird, I arrive at the Lower Falls Campground around 11am.

My trail guide says the trailhead is nestled deep within the campgrounds and borders the Lewis River. I have a hard time finding it and need to backtrack my search efforts at least once. Not a good start to my ride, but at least I'm ringing up the mileage on the bike outing. Always a good thing if you're a biker.

Immediately out of the starting gate I hit the Lewis River Lower Falls. They are a pretty awesome spectacle, don't you agree?
