Acadia National Park
Central Maine Coast

This large golden tree really catches my eye and deserves a little photographic attention.

Signs, signs, and more signs, they're all really starting to confuse me. I failed to take a map along with me so now I'm not sure which turn to take. One of them dares to point in opposite directions to Jordan Pond House, my trek's ending point. How could that be? What should I do? What else could I do, I flip a figurative coin and choose a direction.

On my possibly mis-directed way once again, I find myself warned about treading on parts unwelcome. Funny, I thought this part of the forest was all park land. Apparently there are pockets of privately-owned land sprinkled here and there.

And now for an early-October Acadia National Park leaf-check. The fall colors here have a ways to go, I'd say in another two weeks this area will be at color-bursting peak.

I'm now at the highest point of my ride, the ocean is visible from up here.
