I spent a total of 4 full days touring Washington, D.C. Unfortunately, with all the walking around I did I actually had to take a day off in-between all the touring to rest my sore and tired feet. Click here if you're interested in the complete skinny on my visit to D.C. It'll take you to the start of it all, as I break camp and head into the city for the first time. Otherwise, herein you'll find a good, healthy summary of my tourist activities. I'll present each touring highlight by category, with no regard to the actual day the sight was visited.
So, kick back, relax, and get ready to be served up with an overflowing measure of Washington, D.C.

The White House
Home and office of the President of the United States, the White House is located at the famous address of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Construction of the 55,000 sq foot structure was completed on November 1, 1800 after 8 slow years at a cost of a little more than $232,371.83. When adjusted for inflation, it rounds out to about $3.4 million. It just goes to show you, they didn't pay construction workers very well back in the day.

Arlington National Cemetery
Arlington National Cemetery is one of the most visited tourist sights in the Washington, D.C. area, hosting an upwards of 4 million visitors every year who come to pay their respects to America's many fallen military men and women. Home of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Kennedy grave site, Arlington is the final resting place for veterans and exceptional individuals spanning from the Revolutionary War to the present-day military conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
