I'm tempted to climb back up the hill to try it again from a further distance but the clouds above remind me with a clap of thunder that I need to go down, not up.

Before I climb back through the barbed wire fence I check my sneakers for any unwelcome stowaways. Upon close inspection none are found so I hurry through the fence and back to the van before it starts to sprinkle.

And in Montana when it sprinkles it sprinkles big rain drops. I'd hate to be caught in a Montana downpour!

After a few more miles of driving and I find myself turning back onto solid pavement.
