This is what a bear is gonna see if he tries to mess with me.

I always pre-hydrate before a tough hike. I start off with some water.

Then I try for the first time one of those energy drinks. They're loaded with caffeine and I've heard they're a great supplement when doing physical activity. I don't normally drink coffee so its affect will be interesting. As you can see I bought a "tall boy." According to the label it's the 16oz double strength, double size can. "Bigger, Faster, Stronger" the can says. Their tagline is a little amusing, "Party like a Rockstar."

I read the can a little further to learn exactly what I'm getting myself into, it reads: "Bigger. Better. Faster. Stronger. ROCKSTAR is the most powerful energy drink available. Enhanced with the potent herb Mike Thistle, ROCKSTAR is scientifically formulated to speed the recovery time of those who lead active and exhausting lifestyles - from athletes to rock stars."

So rock stars must drink this stuff to recover from all those frequent late night jam sessions? So if I adhere to their tagline, "Party like a Rock-Star", will my guitar playing skills somehow magically improve by drinking this stuff? Well I hope so, but unfortunately I left my guitar at home.
