My drive east of Montpelier, and for that matter, Vermont in general, continues to be countryside interspersed with small towns. It's actually a little annoying if truth be told. I'll get the van going down the road at full steam, only to come upon a small town where I'm forced to slow down to 35 mph, 30 mph, and in some instances, a very slow 25 mph. This speed-up-and-slow-down cycle is probably the only downside to driving off the Interstate.

Along the way I run across this 411 acre pond as made perfectly clear by the sign. A 411 acre pond should never be confused with a 410 or 412 acre pond. But this should be obvious, they are totally different bodies of water. This sign is a total insult to one's intelligence!

This scene catches my eye. So much so, I stop to snap a few shots. I love all the color. There are two other cars that have stopped as well, both having the same photographic intentions as myself.
