Checking my watch, I discover it's late in the morning, time to buckle down and make some plans for the day.

I finally decide to walk the Freedom Trail. This venue will provide me with not only a whirlwind tour of the more picturesque parts of the city, but also an opportunity to learn about the city's storied history.

As for parking, I decide to go for the cheap option. Rather than pay an arm and a leg for garage parking, I opt for metered street parking. I park many, many blocks away from Boston Common on Beacon Street. Unfortunately, the meters have a 2 hour limit, so I'll have to be efficient with my sightseeing. I may have to run back to the meter to feed it, but I'm hoping it'll only be once, we'll see.

I make my way east up Beacon Street to Boston Common. Boston is an old city, and the architecture that I pass by on my walk reflects that fact.

Brownstones abound in this area of the city.
