My drive will be predominately highway this evening, ho hum.

In these parts, the fall colors are somewhat slow in taking hold. Some of the trees along the highway are almost completely green.

A pretty pink and purple sunset is my evening's entertainment.

Into Washington, D.C. I go.

Oh my God! I'm going to be swallowed up. Yeah, I'm entertaining myself, I'm bored.

The Pentagon?

Upon exiting D.C. I lose all my light. Too bad. Pictorially, I'll completely miss the State of Virginia. Oh well, it'll be like I was *sigh* never there.

After an awful lot of driving, numerous spells of almost nodding off to sleep at the wheel, I manage to make it to Kernersville, NC safe and sound. I park the van in my Uncle's driveway and settle in for the evening. After a busy week of touring Washington, D.C., I'm really looking forward to just chillin' with my good ole Uncle Don. Just before going to bed, I realize I've gained an hour of time, it's 11:30pm and not 12:30am. It's a truly magical moment, I finally realize that I'm actually heading back to the West Coast.
