On my way from West Potomac Park, my first sighting of the Memorial is it's southwest side. It looks very Greek in architecture, it's really quite nice.
Making my way to the front, I can see the statue of Jefferson within the Memorial's dark recesses. It looks like they're doing some rehabilitation work on the Memorial as attested to by all the scaffolding. Too bad, it sorta spoils my pictures, oh well.
Up the steps and to the Memorial's interior entrance I go. Wow, the statue is pretty darn big!
The Memorial's cornerstone was laid by FDR in 1939.
