Going, going, ... gone!

Some colorful aftereffects.

Swinging the camera around to the east I discover the colors here are markedly different. It's the whole ROYGBIV thing going on. The further away from the sun we get the more blues, indigoes, and violets of the optical light spectrum we see.

Looking back to the west we have the reds, oranges, and yellows of the same spectrum. Funny, where are the greens? I'm afraid to say they're getting pretty much getting screwed in the deal. Wouldn't that be cool, green hightlights in the sky?

Feeling a certain sympathy for green, my favorite color, I've assembled this edited photo to demonstrate what green might look like if it didn't always draw the short end of the sunset stick.
