14 years in the making, Mount Rushmore represents important values that have made our country great. Washington represents the "birth" of our nation, Jefferson represents the "expansion" of our country as a result of the Louisiana Purchase, Lincoln represents the "preservation" of our country with his struggles to keep the country together during the Civil War, and Roosevelt represents our nation's "development." Inspired by sculptor Gutzon Borglum and chiseled out of Harney Peak Marble, the 4 presidential busts will stand the test of time, for the marble erodes at the slow rate of 1 inch per 10,000 years.
Well, the entrance sign for Mount Rushmore is just up ahead. Hop in the van and let's check out this grand memorial together. I guarentee it'll be an experience you'll never forget.
