The male moose are rather different here in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, when compared to other parts of the country. Apparently, there's pressure to look flashy for the females? Some moose wish to express pure masculine speed via flames while others wish to simply show their more sensitive side with colorful murals and bright quiltings. If you ask me, I think the female moose are probably a little alarmed by all this. I could have sworn earlier I saw a female moose trying to attract the attentions of a very confused looking elk. Given the male moose fashion sense in these parts, the area's female moose must have decided to jump the generic fence to graze in greener, far more sane, pastures.
