Pleasant Mountain
Southern Maine

Sunday, October 17, 2004

In Southern Maine, while hiking Pleasant Mountain, I encounter this rag-tag tepee upon reaching the summit. Who built this thing? Perhaps Boy Scouts, possibly mountain hobbits? It looks more like the startings of a bonfire than anything else. In it's current condition I'd hate to call it home. But, with a tarp, some bungee cords, and a little ingenuity, I think it would make a sweet shelter indeed.
