Boston, Massachusetts

While walking down the Beacon Street in Boston, Massachusetts, a strange vehicle passes me by. It immediately catches my attention because most vehicles aren't colored florescent pink and they don't look like they just drove off a WWII battlefield. So, what gives here? Is this some kind of radio promotional stunt? Nope. Perhaps some eccentric individual who wishes to be the center of attention? Wrong again. It's actually a tour company called Boston Duck Tours.

Founded in 1994, the company offers an 80 minute land/water combo tour of Boston. The tours are conducted using old WWII amphibious vehicles that are half-truck, half-boat. Code-named DUKW by the military, the first "DUCK" that rolled off the assembly line was a GMC truck encased in a watertight shell.

At present, the company has 23 of these vehicles at its disposal, each of which is driven by a ConDUCKtor, as they put it. Probably as novel as the method of transportation are the characters who drive the DUCKs and conduct the tours. With names like Admiral Amnesia, Captain Cookie, and Paul Reverse, in addition to receiving interesting information about Boston and its rich history, you're guarenteed to experience a lot of laughs and fun as well.
