St. Paul, Minnesota

Wednesday, July 21, 2004

I met the group of 4 when riding the Centennial Trail near Spokane, WA. I ran into Adam first and found out the scattered group of 4 riders who I had initially passed but then in turn passed me when I took a ride break were all together. They had left Port Townsend, WA many days prior and were on their way to Great Falls, Montana. They passed through the North Cascades via SR-20 just as I had, probably passing them on my way to Spokane.

I soon caught up with John, the group leader. A highschool math teacher of 30 years from St. Paul Minnesota, he planned the 2 week trip and recruited past student Patrick and Patrick brought along his friend Adam and Adam's father John. In the past John has biked a few tours. The one that stood out most in my mind was a 2000 tour from Portland, OR to St. Paul, MN, now that's some serious distance!
