I'm given the opportunity to don elbow and knee pads, compliments of the Mt. Bike Center. How nice of them. I take full advantage of them which in the end turns out to be a smart thing to do.

I wait in line for the gondola.

All of the other riders are tourists. No mountain bikers are in sight.
