White Mountain National Forest
Southern New Hampshire

Time for a map check. As Bill takes a gander at his trail map while these hikers passed us by. I hear one of them complaining the trail is too hard. Fast-forwarding the day, these folks didn't make it to the top. I'm not at all surprised, this hike is not for the faint of heart (or multitude of belly).

The hiking gets steeper and steeper, harder and harder. I'm really starting to huff-and-puff now.

Time to stop for a snack to boost my spirits and energy level. You know what they say, "the best part of exercise is stopping", and I must say, I feel that that motto is true at the moment. Bill and I have really been busting our humps on the trail today.

Oh, how appropriate. I'm in Maine and I'm wearing a Maine baseball cap. Fast-forward to my writing this entry 9 months later. D-oh, I'm actually hiking in New Hampshire, not in Maine, I'm such a moron. Oh well, I like the picture anyway.

We are somewhere here.
