Carlsbad, New Mexico

My van and the desert. Or is it my van, the road, and the desert. Or maybe my van, the road, a wooden fence, and the desert. Oh, and I must mention the footpath.

Back in the van again and a little more driving takes me to another footpath, let's investigate this one as well.

This one is paved, and there's water running over it. Water in the desert, something you'll only see in the rainy season, I'm sure.

Desert plants and associated placards expounding exciting factoids about them.

This is the strangest critter of the litter, can't say I've ever seen a desert plant quite like this one.
