Houston, Texas

Here's a scale model of the Saturn V rocket. This rocket was one of the cornerstones of the Apollo Project, providing the space transport vehicle necessary take the American astronauts to the Moon.

Here's a neat exhibit of what it would be like walking around on the Moon.

The astronauts even had a sweet ride!

No star gazing for the astronauts, no sir! All missions landed during two-week lunar days, during which they couldn't see the stars. That's really no different than here on earth. During the day you cannot see the stars either.

The next exhibit is a big one, the Lunar Samples Vault. The astronauts brought back to Earth a lot of lunar material, including rocks, soil, and dust. This display attempts to explain the various samples. Sorry, my photos of the display's associated placards are all blurry, so there's no supporting photographed text for me to write a narrative with.
