If you're bored and looking for something to do, Jackson is a great place to hang your hat. They offer a ton of activities, from rafting to fishing to ballooning to mountain climbing to golfing to horseback riding to... well I think you get the idea... It's all about the outdoors here.

The town has an interesting mix of people. I see many, many bikers, yuppies, families, and quite a few Japanese tourists. Cowboy Bar is a favorite hangout for the biker crowd. The vast majority of bikers in town seem to be 40 or older, old enough to know that wearing a helmet makes good sense. But I rarely see any of them wearing one. And seeing bright red sunburn on their faces is commonplace, I guess they think sunblock is for wimps.

I see very few cowboys. This is the only posse I can find. Maybe Jackson isn't their cup of tea, not rough and tough enough maybe?

At the center of downtown Jackson you'll find Town Square, it takes up a full block of realestate. At its center I find this impressive war memorial. It has names of those who lost their lives in past wars, going all the way back to the Spanish American War while some are as recent as Desert Storm.
