As I drive along, I notice some of the rocks on the roadside have rather interesting colorations. They are so red, perhaps because they have iron in them? Sorry, geology isn't my bag, but, you don't have to know a thing about geology to appreciate a rock, right? For me, the above rock is a mysterious rock, perhaps formed by unnatural, evil forces? Yes, this place is indeed cursed, I must take great care as I pass through the wicked wanderings of this wayward thoroughfare.

Some miscellaneous scenes pass by as I drive on the wide, 2-lane gravel road. Strangely, the above pond, with its multitude of lilly pads, fails to match the freshness of the surrounding scenery. It seems to be polluted, a stagnant pond it is; no water going in, no water going out.

I add this short dog-leg to the trip to spice things up. It's a single-lane dirt road where, in some places, it is so cramped, twisted, and bumpy, that I find myself a little concerned over the possibility of having to back the van out all the way if I encounter a fallen tree or some other obstacle. Fortunately, all is clear, and I make it through without incident.

Here are two nice views from atop the dog-leg road, just prior to descending to the highway below. This is the type of country I love so much; picturesque mountains intermixed with lowlying pastures. Imagine yourself now, in a small airplane, flying close to the wheat-colored lowlands, and all the while weaving your way through the surrounding mountains. To me, this place is one form of Heaven, urging to me to quit my trip now and settle here forever.
