At this point I'm passing through Gatlinburg, TN. The city is fairly touristy, but not nearly as bad as Pigeon Forge. Gatlinburg has more of a high-end, expensive feel to it.

Finally, I've reached the outskirts of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Straddling the ridgeline of the Appalachian Mountains, the park extends into the western reaches of North Carolina and the eastern reaches of Tennessee. Ranging in height from 875 feet to 6,643 feet, Great Smoky Mountains National Park it a one-stop-shop for both dramatic scenery and a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Click here for more detail and pictures of my visit to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Driving back from the park, I pass through Pigeon Forge, TN. I'm surprised by how lit up it is. I feel like it's Christmas time.
