As the evening approaches I set out north on a road that runs clear out to the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. After driving just a little ways out of Jackson I reach the hill, my intended elevator to the sunset.

I size up the hill and estimate it to be about 1,000 feet (I was close, afterwards I checked my GPS map and it was approximately 900 feet).

So, up and up I climb. I pass by interesting rocks and vegetation along the way, quickly pausing for a closer look. Not much time to waste however, I'm racing against the setting sun.

Slowly but surely I get closer and closer to the top.
