Central Maine Coast

I pull into the parking lot and ride to the beach access. I then park my bike and descend down a short stairways to Sand Beach.

On the way I walk past these postings. Hmmm, seems Sand Beach is the only sandy beach in Acadia National Park, all other areas are apparently somewhat rocky.

Once on the beach I discover that in one direction the scenery is in shadows and my pictures are hopelessly underexposed. Ugh!

Swinging my camera around the other direction nets better results.

There are a number of folks milling about, enjoying the surf and sun. It's a little chilly and the wind is blowing a bit, I linger around only to take just a few more shots.

Back on the road bike once again, a bit of climbing produces heightened views of Sand Beach. Unfortunately, I'm now officially growing rather tired. Sure, the scenery is nice enough, but the idea of thumbing a ride back to the campgrounds grows more and more appealing with each passing mile.
