Unfortunately, after inquiring about lift tickets, I'm informed the lift is broken and they're not sure when it's going to be fixed.

Rats! Too attest this fact, the maintenance bay is open for all to see.

I now have to resort to Plan B. I'll road bike rather than mountain bike today. The road on the way in to Lake Placid, Route 3, seems like a good candidate so I'll go with that.

I drove back through Lake Placid and park just outside of Saranac Lake in a supermarket parking lot.

After downing a Rockstar I'm ready to go.
