After gaining some altitude I'm able to see past the trees to one of the mountain tops.

I'm feeling pretty good. I seem to have plenty of energy but I'm going through my waterpack like a thirsty two-humped camel.

High meadow flowers are everywhere, bursting with brilliant colors. It looks more like early Spring than the middle of Summer.

More and more climbing.
