Seattle even has a full-blown hotel that's sitting right on the pier.

At Pier 66 you can board a cruise ship that'll take you to many fun places, including Alaska and beyond. The Norwegian Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruises operate from the Bell Street Pier Cruise Terminal at Pier 66. During the 2004 cruise season, Seattle welcomed over 170 cruise ship visits and nearly 700,000 passengers. It's a pretty big business.

While touring the waterfront I meet an interesting homeless man named Alexander. He lost his housing 10 months ago and has since been living out on the streets. When I meet him he is sitting on the sidewalk typing out flash cards on a manual typewriter.

Seattle is a big sports town. They support both professional baseball (Seattle Mariners) and football (Seattle Seahawks). Here are the homes to those two activities. I can't get a decent picture of the baseball field so I have to settle for the sliding roof, as depicted in the last picture.

The waterfront turns industrial as one travels northward along the waterfront.
