Here's the warning sticker on my picnic table. Apparently there are no bears around, otherwise it would explicitly say something about them. I think one more thing needs to be added to the sticker, a warning to the birds not to crap on the tables.

Well it's time to hike up Cadillac Mountain. From everything I've read, the views from the mountain (tallest point on the eastern seaboard) promise to be quite spectacular!

Click here for more detail and pictures of my hike to the top of the mountain.

Surprisingly, the hike turns out to be harder and longer than anticipated. On the flipside, I experience some really great views and in the process meet a few nice people along the way. Case in point, I make the acquaintance of Jean, Celine and their cute puppy, Dingo.

After the hike Jean and Celine show me their new van. It's quite a sweet ride. It has a popup roof, solar power, a refrigerator, birch cabinetry, the works. It's basically all that I wish my van was but isn't. I'm okay with that however, I didn't ask them what the price tag was, but, I bet it was many, many times over what I paid for my van.

The evening is now upon me, the sun has already slipped past the horizon. After saying my goodbyes to my new found friends, I drive over to the pay shower facility and clean up. I then drive back to my campsite and settle in for the evening. I travel write for a while then retire.

Tomorrow is a biking day. I think I'll take my road bike for a big spin around the island.
