Back in the driver seat again, I drive to my next destination, San Francisco de Asis Church in the small village of Ranchos de Taos. Constructed in 1850, the church promises to be a prime example of classical adobe architecture.

Nearing the church I spy the local post office, all dressed up in adobe fashion.

Across the way I find a few adobe tourist traps. Geeze, everywhere I look, all I see is adobe.

Here's a welcomed change from the adobe tedium, a fence of primative construction. Talk about using your natural resources to build things.

Given my directions, the church is supposed to be around here somewhere. Yikes! I hope this isn't the church, it looks a bit worse for wear.

Oh, that's much better, this is the San Francisco de Asis Church. The thick, rounded walls of this impressive adobe structure attracts photographers and painters from all around the world. My photo shooting efforts today will be strictly limited to outside views only. Picture taking is forbidden within its inner confines due to the church's sacred nature. Regardless, the church's outside offerings are still capitvating, no?
