After my church tour I pass by this interesting ornate entrance on my way back to the van. I'm not sure where it goes, perhaps this is the church's rectory building?

Back in the van, I head to Taos, New Mexico for my second overnight. On the way I get the urge to check out Taos Pueblo, a old Indian pueblo who's history dates back to at least a thousand years.

After passing through Taos I reach the Taos Pueblo Indian Reservation. In the distance I spy Pueblo Peak which is a little more than 12,000 feet above sea level.

When I reach the outskirts of the pueblo I come to my senses. It's too late to take a tour, the pueblo is now closed. I'll have to come back tomorrow.

Deflated by my failed last minute tourism attempt, I head back to Taos. Once there I park the van at the local Walmart for my overnight. I'm feeling a bit drained and my throat is somewhat sore now, I hope I'm not getting sick. I can't afford to get sick, especially now that the weather is turning chilly.

After a quick dinner in the van I walk over to a nearby movie theatre where I catch the movie Ray. The flick turns out to be a really good one, Ray Charles was a pretty amazing guy. If you haven't seen the movie, you're missing out.

Back at the van I make a few phone calls then turn in for the evening. Damn, it's starting to rain now. I plan to tour both the City of Taos as well as Taos Pueblo tomorrow. I hope my plans don't get washed out.
