Roswell, New Mexico

Other vintage media equipment in the exhibit.

The first indications of a governmental cover-up start to creep into events. Brazel's story changes from finding strange objects (perhaps a spacecraft) to finding a ordinary weather balloon after being interrogated by the military. A Roswell radio station who interviewed Brazel before his interrogation is threatened with losing its license if they broadcast any report about the incident; threat received from AZ Senator. The military then takes charge over the crash site and chase all curious civilians away.

The Army initially announces the discovered flying object is a disk.

Boxes containing crash site debris samples are flown to Fort Worth, TX to General Ramey's office. Major Marcel (the first military guy who toured the crash site) gets a further glimpse of the strange debris, then goes into a map room with General Ramey to show him the location of the crash site. When they both return, Major Marcel discovers the boxes have been removed and in their place someone has carted in a damaged weather balloon. The old switch-a-roonie has been pulled!

Here's the weather ballon the cat dragged in. If the crash site contained only a weather balloon, why would the military cordon it off and adamantly chase away civilians? It must be some REAL important weather balloon, eh?
