I arrive at the top of Cadillac Mountain with only a few minutes to spare. Having raced all the way from campsite to mountaintop, I'm really relieved to see the sun has yet to show its golden face. The sky is clear save a few interesting clouds that should further enhance the sun's anticipated lightshow effects.

The horizon glows colorful and warm, surely the sun is now clearing its throat, preparing to sing its daily song of color and light.

A multitude of folks have gathered on this chilly, windy morning. With little to no shelter to be had on this barren portion of the mountaintop, most people have opted for winter clothing as their sunrise attire.
