Plymouth, Massachusetts

Next to Mayflower II is this small ship-to-shore boat called a shallop. It was from a boat like this that the Pilgrims first set foot from boat to dry land. Well, actually, they must have walked through the water first while pulling the boat onto the beach, this isn't a hovercraft ya know.

Okay, time to ante up for the tour. I pay my $8 entrance fee and receive an informational pamphlet.

I walk through the entrance gate and begin my tour. Oh boy, an informational display that talks about the Wampanoag Indian Tribe.

Interesting, the Tribe was not vastly different from most other cultures. They lived in houses, the women did most of the house duties, caring for children. The men were out hunting and fishing, the animals they brought back were used for food, clothing. They traveled on well, established trails and waterways.

Huh? Members of the Wampanoag Tribe look like white people? Okay, how hard is it to find models that are Native American? Pleeeease!
