Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Ahhh, here's a nice panorama, all stitched together for your viewing pleasure.

Standing around at 6,000 feet above sea level in early November for almost an hour as the sun goes down is a great way to get really chilled. With freezing hands and cold feet I jump into the van to warm up a bit.

Sufficiently thawed out, I make a mad dash to the edge of the parking lot to snap my last batch of pictures before the sun completely surrenders to the horizon.

Well it's a wrap folks. With this last photo I conclude my sunset photo op of the Smokies.

Wow! What can I say? This is one of the best sunsets I've seen in a long time. It was certainly worth braving the freezing cold to capture this grand, colorful spectacle in digital. 5 thumbs-up for this sunset in the Smokies, a perfect rating!
