I spend the morning and early afternoon at the park travel writing in the van. Around 2pm a police car enters the park's parking lot and parks near my van. I wait for yet another officer interrogation but after 10 minutes of sitting there the car drives away. I take the encounter as an omen of things to come if I stay in Chicago.

I have tentative plans to go biking with someone I met on the Internet (www.craigslist.org, activity partner category) but the only way of getting a hold of her is via email. I haven't heard back from her yet so rather than waiting around for her email I decide to leave town instead.

My drive is a short one. My initial intent was to drive all the way to Ohio but fatigue gets the best of me. I end up just inside of Indiana.

My drive out of Chicago is during rush hour so it takes me at least an hour to get out of town.

Sears Tower. It used to be the tallest building in the world. I've been to Chicago before and visited its observation floor, it's pretty amazing how far one can see.
