It wouldn't be fair to omit a frequent, yet, unflattering occurrence on my drive today. The occurrence? Mile upon mile of boring countryside, it just goes on and on. All in all, the central and southern portions of Tennessee aren't all that interesting.

During my trip I spy this little piece of Mexico in the heart of Tennessee. Located in the middle of nowhere, someone has decided that the local folks here are ready for some southern cooking. And I'm taking about south of the USA border cooking.

I have the fortune of stumbling across this scenic overlook. A little tired from driving and in need of a good leg stretch, I pull into the overlook for a little looksee. What I get is a little more than anticipated. It looks like the local kids have the run of the place.

Click here for my little tour of this neglected scenic overlook.

As we all know, the sun has a mind of its own. Currently, it's about to retire over the horizon, and in the process, has signaled the end of my photo op of Tenneesee. I drive on into the night and reach the outskirts of Memphis, TN early in the morning. I quickly find a Walmart, park the van, then retire for the evening. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, I'm going to tour the home of the King! Graceland, that is.
