After completing my tour of Graceland I hop into the van with the intention of driving to Memphis' Waterfront District. I wish to grab a Mississippi riverboat ride and experience the famous river first-hand. Not knowing exactly how to get there, I ask one of the guards at the Graceland parking lot and shortly thereafter I'm handed this slip of paper containing the directions. Yeee Hawww! Mississippi River, here I come!

After about a 15 minute drive I arrive at the waterfront. I see the boats from a ways away and I'm drawn to them like a moth to a light bulb.

I park the van on a steep incline near the docked boats. Geeze, where is everybody? Not a good sign.

The stone surface in interesting, I wonder how old it is and how far up this angled parking lot does the Mississippi rise during flooding?

It's a ghost town.
