Back into town I go, my destination is Beale Street, Memphis' Blues Mecca.

I pass by a number of horse and carriages. I must be getting close because I've heard Beale Street is a little touristy.

Ahhh, I've finally arrived.

To some folks, Beale Street is just another street in downtown Memphis, but to others, it's a significant historical location that played an important role in fostering the musical artform and style called the blues. One of the most visited attractions in Tennessee, Beale Street is lined with a variety of blues clubs, restaurants, and interesting shops. As I walk the street, the air is filled with musical sounds. Musicians play their music from an outdoor courtyard, sharing with the public the joy of their soulful craft.

I complete my tour of Beale Street around 11pm and I find myself completely bushed. Since my trip's next destination is New Orleans, LA, I decide to push out of Memphis and the state of Tennessee, for that matter, to Mississippi. About 20 miles south of the Tennessee/Mississippi border I hit paydirt, I find a Walmart. After pulling in and parking the van I immediately hit the sack. Today was a busy day. Filled with Elvis, the Mississippi River, and the sweet blues from Beale Street, I should have plenty of pleasant things to dream about tonight.
