Great Smoky Mountains National Park
North Carolina/Tennessee Border

The trail continues to climb. As I look to my left, I can see quite aways in the distance.

What the? Hey, wait a minute! The last sign said 1.7 miles to go. This one is telling me I have 2.2 miles to go. Maybe I've made a wrong turn somewhere along the way? Ya think? Well, I don't feel so bad, I soon run into another bozo who's made the same error. Stupidity enjoys company, no doubt.

I proceed to backtrack. Looking on the bright side, I've added another mile to my first hike for today, and in the process, perhaps going the wrong way has taken me to the best scenery of my hike. I guess only time will tell.

It's at this signpost that I needed to make a left and not a right turn. I've just learned something, those little arrow thingys next to the trail names are important, I need to pay better attention to them.

Going in the correct direction now, I make my way downhill. So far, the trail kinda sucks. Not only is it not very interesting to look at, the shady parts are rather chilly.
