Washington, D.C.

To my right, I see another 4 columns, behind which stands a large inscription of Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address.

I'm wrapping up my tour of the Memorial now, here's a look at the Washington Monument from within the Lincoln Memorial.

And, of course, I have to take some silly pictures of me and the Washington Monument.

The Lincoln Memorial holds court to millions of visitors a year. After sitting on the steps of the Memorial and observing the passing crowds, this group stands apart from the rest for they all appear to be from England. I'm only guessing based on their accents. I have to laugh, it's a regular fire drill of camera picture taking when the time arrives to create photographic mementos of their visit to the Memorial.

My visit to the Lincoln Memorial has finally come to an end. I hope you enjoyed the tour, I certainly did. Important people deserve important memorials. The eight years of sweat and labor that went into the creation of this Memorial was well worth the effort. What a fine tribute to a fine man. America, and even the world for that matter, would be wise to recognize what Lincoln did for humanity. I like to think his selfless efforts have gone far in making the world a better place.

I give my tour of the Lincoln Memorial a 5 thumbs-up, a perfect rating!
