Northwestern Wyoming

Adjacent to Minerva Terrace I find Jupiter and Mound Terraces.

"Both of these terraces display cycles of activity typical of Mammoth Hot Springs. In 1937, Mound Terrace was called 'the most beautifully colored spring'. Inactive in recent decades, its weathered travertine shows new patterns where chunks of the soft rock have broken or fallen. In the late 1980s. Jupiter Terrace flowed heavily and overtook boardwalks several times. It has been dry since 1992."

No name for this formation. Atop is New Blue Spring so it must have been created by a spring spilling over the terrace wall.

Oh geeze, looking over to my right I see a hole has been punched into the banned surface. Surely someone wandered off the boardwalk and fell into the boiling labyrinth below. Must have been a very large person or maybe a complete family looking for a unique group photo experience?

After ascending a flight of stairs I met up the New Blue Spring. It's rather cool looking, don't you think? Imagine it's your Jacuzzi, you're sitting in it, looking out at the beautiful view, and then you start screaming uncontrollably because it's near boiling and your skin is starting to peel off. Oops. Sorry. I'm getting a little too graphic. But that's what would happen if someone was stupid enough to jump in. Well, it's a good thought anyway, minus the boiling water and skin peeling part, of course.
