My first stop is the Mammoth Hot Spring Terraces. This exhibit is my first glimpse into the tumultuous nature of Yellowstone's geology.

At the exhibit's exit I see a group of Amish people (maybe they were Quakers?) talking to a park ranger. Throughout my Yellowstone stay I suspect I'll run into people from walks of the life. Yellowstone is truly a world destination. With 60% of the world's geysers and unique geothermal characteristics, it's certainly not at all surprising.

After finishing the trail at Mammoth Hot Springs and going back to the van, I encounter this strange bug walking up the driver-side door. Pretty big antennas.

I now have to find another campsite, one further south and closer to my remaining points of interest. The drive south of Mammoth is met with steep ascents and twisting turns.
