Boston, Massachusetts

Not surprisingly, the crowd goes absolutely wild! People are taking off their shirts and throwing beer into the air. The bar staff starts to look a but nervous about all the ruckus and tell everyone to leave immediately.

Into the streets we all pour. Everyone seems to be heading to Fenway Park to celebrate the victory. I decide to avoid the crowd and head back to the van. It's almost 1am and I don't wish to miss the last train. It's just as well, the crowd is so whipped up right now, I'd rather not witness any negative crowd psychology that such over-the-top emotional events like this one may cause. Fast forwarding to tomorrow, I learn someone died in the melee, a female college student who somehow received a fatal strike to the head.

I'm lucky and manage to catch the last train back to city center. From Boston Common I walk back to the van. Along the way I find the streets are absolutely clogged with celebrants, all are honking their horns, some are sitting or standing atop cars, and most are wildly waving to the large crowd of folks who have gathered on the sidewalks. It's a regular free-for-all, an uncontrolled frenzy of fan excitement and celebration.

Looking back at all that has happened this evening, I must say, it's all been quite a thrilling ride. I'm so glad to have visited Boston on this historic day. The memories from this evening will never leave me, it's just one of those pivotal events where you can say, "Yes, I experienced history at its cradle, and I was actually a part of it!" I give my experience tonight an overwhelming 5 thumbs-up, a perfect rating!
