Massachusetts

Back in the van once again, I make my way back into Provincetown. In the distance I see Pilgrim Monument and I immediately decide I have enough time to go check it out. It looks really interesting from afar.

On my way to the monument I spy this old relic, a retired anchor.

I've arrived at the Pilgrim Monument. Come with me as I tour this tribute to the Mayflower Pilgrims. At the top you'll receive a heightened 360-degree panoramic view of the surrounding area, what could be better than that?

Click here for more detail and pictures of my tour of the Pilgrim Monument.

After I complete my tour of Pilgrim Monument I head back down the peninsula. Just outside of Provincetown I notice many of the waterfront homes are all buttoned up, their shutters are fully deployed and at the ready to protect against driving wind, rain, and snow. Since my route back will be pretty much backtracking the same territory encountered on my way up, I pack away the camera and just drive. I end up overnighting in Falmouth, MA and arrive in the evening. Realizing it's too dark to take any more pictures, I conclude my tour of Cape Cod.

I hope you enjoyed Cape Cod as much as I did. Aside from experiencing a little foot pain in my purposely limited travels by foot, I thoroughly enjoyed my little one day tour of the peninsula. I'd like to visit again, but in the summer months, when there are more things going on. I'd also like to spend a few days at the Cape, just relaxing and enjoying the sun and surf. I rate my tour of Cape Cod a solid 5 thumbs-up!
