Memphis, Tennessee

Along the street I see little history lessons placed atop poles.

Yowza! I think me in love. Oh my God, who would have thought a wall could be so alluring! Check out the detail on this mural. From the beads of water (or is it beer?) to the shadows on her face to her belly button, if I was the Jolly Green Giant, I'd probably be recovering from a head injury about right now. Why? Because I would have run into the wall with open arms, thinking I had finally met the woman of both my dreams and stature. The last picture is kinda weird, if I didn't know its context, I would swear it looks like a talking wall.

Just a stone's throw away from Beale Street I stumble upon the FedEx Forum, home of the Memphis Grizzlies. The professional basketball team moved from Vancouver, BC to Memphis, TN in 2001. With its worst season record in 2001/02 of W23-L59 and its best season record in 2003/04 of W50-L32, the team is sorta middle-of-the-road in the NBA standings.

Uh oh, I've almost run out of memory on my digital camera. I have to run back to the van and download all my pictures to my laptop before continuing on with my tour. On the way, I discover Beale Street has a Walk of Fame, similar to the the one in Hollywood, CA. Aside from Johnny Cash, I know nothing about these honored singers.
