Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico
Hey, check this out. Sans buttresses, gargoyles, and stained glass, at least the church has gutters. I wonder, is this original equipment or a modern day add-on? I'm thinking, at the very least, if you're going to slap up aluminum gutters, at least have the sense to paint them the same color as the adobe to help hide them. You know, the gutters could be multipurpose, come to think of it. Each corner would make a perfect perching place for a gargoyle, don't you think? Opportunity missed though. Oh well. I'm betting there's an automatic bell-ringer up there too, no old-school hand-ringing bells in this place.
Around to the front I go.
I trot a little ways away from the church so I can get it all in one shot.
I slowly approach the entrance way. Shall we go in?
Making my way to the front entrance I fail to notice there's a cross standing in the middle of the path. After running into the cross and falling to the ground, I pick myself up then shake off the dust. Why is there a cross in the middle of the pathway? I make my way to the doors.
Here's a close-and-personal of the front doors.
