Gifford Pinchot National Forest Southern Washington State
At one point I encounter some pretty sweet views.
This is typical of the slope of the terrain. From the side it doesn't look all that bad, but when you're at the top looking down, it -is- steep. On some steep sections I unclip from one of the pedals and sometimes unclip from both on the really steep runs. I must say, I certainly walk the bike up many a hill, but I'm proud to say I haven't dismounted for any of the downhill. Hey, I must be getting better at this mountain biking thing?
There are a number of small waterfalls that cross the singletrack, feeding into the Lewis River. This is one of them.
Another of many deep pools of crystal clear water beside the trail.
A portion of the trail is bordered by lush ferns and horsetails.
