Badlands National Park Southwestern South Dakota
Sage Creek Basic Overlook. There are hiking trails that spider-legged out from the overlook. It is just me of does that look like a miserable place to hike?
The Park Service requires overnight hikers to register.
The Badlands is a very dry place, averaging only 15 inches of rain a year. I'm surprised to see anything of substance growing here. But the fact of the matter is these plants are not only growing, they are thriving.
More buffalo poop. It's all over the place. So where were the buffalo? I see no evidence that the artist has passed by. Or perhaps they dabble in modern art as well?
