I then see a sign detailing the area's reservoir system. The sign is in pretty bad shape, looks like it hadn't been maintained in a long, long while, perhaps never? So I start to think about the crane, and the sign, and I realize I had to cross the dam again to get back to the paved road, my escape route out.

I then look at the Hungry Horse Reservoir pushing up against the dam and wonder, how many tons of water pressure are being exerting upon it and how quickly would the dam crumble if there was a breach of some sort? Fortunately, I was able to cross the dam without incident.

On my way back to the main road I keep checking my rear mirror every minute or so for a tsunami-sized wave of water that never comes. Back again on my route, I continue to drive a bit more then see a sign announcing the Going To The Sun Road, the main drag that runs through Glacier Park. That's a rather strange name for a road, "Going To The Sun." I then start to wonder if the person who named the road had an odd name of their own, something like "Bob Who Likes To Eat Pizza" or "Barbara Has Bad Breath?"

The west entrance to Glacier National Park is filled with small touristy shops. Many folks are milling about, some returning from a group rafting trip, others just walking around, enjoying the day.
