After a little more driving and sight seeing I encounter Avalanche Creek Campgrounds, apparently I've entered bear country. I park the van and set to task, figuring out the day's biking venue. I'm in the mood for some serious road biking, a ride to test my endurance and strength. Given all the elevation the park has to offer, I don't have to look very far. Using my GPS software I devise a route to depart Avalanche Creek Campground and travel uphill to Logan Pass, some 15 miles and 3,000+ feet away.

After gearing up I emerge from my van cocoon, all pumped up and ready to crack open a can of biking whoop-ass on Logan Pass. No doubt, this is going to be a tough ride.

So as preparation for the trek.

I throw on some "game face."

The time has arrived. With my road bike "Captain America" (Easy Rider) under me and filled to the gills with hydration...
